Peru 2007

After successfully conquering Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania during the Spring of 2005 we are ready for a new adventure. We have set our sites on the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu located in the mountains of Peru. This blog is dedicated to the preparation and execution of that trip.

Timing Is Everything

Machu Picchu's high season is during the "dry" season that runs from June through October. The low or "wet" season typically runs from November to May. January, February and March are summer months in Peru, while June, July and August fall in the winter. It is recommended to visit the ruins during the dry season (even though it might be a bit cooler).
